Time to discover Arran, 20 miles long and 10 miles wide, with 56 miles of coastline, dotted with sandy beaches and often referred to as “Scotland in Miniature”. Scotland is renowned for its dramatic coastal scenery and days out are taken to take in this visual feast. The Ayrshire coastline with entry to a cliff top castle and to Angus with its famous golf courses with time to discover the ship which took Scott & Shakleton to the Antarctica in 1901.

Tuesday: Culzean Castle & Ayrshire Coast
Perched high on the cliff top looking out towards Arran stands magnificent Culzean Castle with a 260 hectare Country Park. Entry to explore the 40 buildings, secret follies, walled garden, beaches and the swan lake. Continuing along the coastline to the seaside town of Maidens and world famous Turnberry.
Wednesday: Isle of Arran
Catch the ferry from nearby Ardrossan to Arran, to see for yourself why this island is known as “Scotland in Miniature”. Take in the coastal villages of Lamlash & Whiting Bay. Stop for photos at Kildonan of the bird sanctuary Ailsa Craig. Over the tops opening up views of the whole island, before stopping at Arran Sense of Scotland finishing with time in the capital Brodick before catching the ferry back to the mainland. (60 miles).
Thursday: Trossachs, Whisky Tasting, Crieff & Dundee
Depart Ayrshire, passing Glasgow & Stirling, turning north into glorious Trossachs countryside. Time free in Callander. Continue into the Highlands, along the shoreline of Loch Earn stopping at Glenturret for a guided tour and tasting of the famous Grouse whisky. Free time in the picturesque Perthshire village of Crieff before heading along the Firth to Dundee for 2 nights. (145 miles).
Friday: RRS Discovery and Angus Coastline
The morning is spent on Dundee’s rejuvenated waterfront. A visit is arranged to board the iconic 1901 RRS Discovery - the ship used by Scott and Shakelton on their expedition of Antarctica. Hear the stories and live the past through the extensive galleries, film shows, interactives and artefacts.
The coastal scenery around Dundee is amazing and we make the most of the day by visiting Carnoustie & Arbroath. (53 miles).
Saturday: St Andrews & Homeward Bound
Depending on your homeward journey, and not far off the beaten track is St Andrews, a town of significant historical interest as well as being the home of golf, before joining the Motorway and over the new Forth Road Bridge.
