Day 1: Scottish Borders, Loch Lomond & Glencoe
Let the adventure begin. Journey north through the Scottish Borders through Glencoe & into the Scottish Highlands, checking into Mallaig for the night.
Day 2: Mallaig and Uist
Enjoy a leisurely morning admiring Morar’s famous silver sands beaches before a visit to Mallaig, The West coast’s busiest fishing port and the terminus of the West Highland line. Spot the Harry Potter train rolling in or visit the heritage centre to hear about life old and new. Catch the afternoon sailing to South Uist arriving in time for dinner.
Day 3: Isle of Harris
Take the sea crossing to Harris, a rugged and mountainous island with moorlands, deep lochs and glorious coastline. On route stop at Harris Distillery Opened in 2015 the distillery had just ten employees with the ambition of doubling their staff. Now boasting a team of 40, they are the true heart of Harris. Continue along the spine of the island and to Lewis with its history dating back 5000 years. 3 nights Stornoway, the island’s capital.
Day 4: Guided Tour of Lewis
A local & experienced guide will join the coach for an amazing day excursion around the Hebrides. This unforgettable trip takes in a landscape of pretty moorlands, sheer cliffs and sandy bays and incorporates a stop at the Standing Stones of Callanish, an antiquity of the Bronze Age, as well as visiting the “Blackhouses” and plenty other areas of interest.
Day 5 :?Free time to explore Stornoway
A Day at leisure to relax & sightsee around Stornoway, where Gaelic traditions and language are still thriving.?There are some lovely easily graded walks round Lews Castle grounds & harbour side. Both are near the hotel. There are plenty shops and attractions to browse on the seafront, and a selection of wildlife boat trips are also available.
Day 6:?Ullapool, Inverness & Spey Valley?
Board the ferry for the sailing back to the Scottish mainland. From Ullapool travel through majestic Highland scenery across the Northern Highlands, much of it on the acclaimed Route 500 arriving in Inverness, with free time (if ferry sailings allow). Then, turn south through the spectacular scenery of the Spey Valley arriving at your final hotel in Perthshire or Central Belt areas, to suit your homewards journey on Sunday.
